Calman is an organisation that works with young people in the Highlands.  Our aim is to support young people who may be struggling to make the transition into independent adult life, and to play a positive part in the community that they live in. 

We work alongside young people in Highland schools to enable them to prepare for the challenges they will face in moving on towards work, or a home of their own in future.  Young people can approach us for 1-1 support with their housing needs; advice and information on leaving home or housing issues; to improve their literacy skills; or to join in various training activities as preparation for work.

Our young people’s website, leavinghomeinthehighlands covers the main issues that young people will face when they leave home or school in the Highlands.  Young people across Highland can safely gain access to advice and information that may not be readily available to them in their local area.
